Bird Cow Fish is a bistro and espresso bar centrally located on Crown Street in Sydney’s cosmopolitan Surry Hills.
Our food philosophy is driven by our passion for cooking and the seasonal and sustainable produce that we source from our equally committed producers and suppliers.
Positioned within a dynamic retail, business and residential precinct only minutes from Sydney's CBD and easily accessible to the city's surrounding suburbs, Bird Cow Fish's unique concept and commitment to "good food" makes it extremely popular with regular locals, business clients and visitors alike.
The modern clean design is warmed by comforting aged wooden floors, cushioned bentwood chairs, subtle elegant lighting and JAZZ.
The informal Espresso Bar serves fabulous Single Origin coffee, light meals, sandwiches (including our famous Croque Madame) and cakes from our pastry chef as well as a wonderful selection of cheese and is fully licenced.
Breakfast and brunch are served on Saturday and Sunday.
Our dining room whilst still relaxed serves co-owner chef Alex Herbert's more substantial dishes, offering fresh bold flavours from an intentionally small and ever changing produce driven menu. |

what the reviews say ...

"During the day, there's a smart lunch menu with sophisticated counter snacks (and equally good weekend breakfasts). At night, the mood is more refined in this elegant space, accentuated by dark floorboards with timber chairs and tables"

|
| "A lick of paint and new blackboards have freshened up this relatively new gem on the Sydney dining scene, but the room remains elegantly understated with polished floorboards, wooden tables and comfortable chairs" |
| - Sydney Eats 2009 |
|
| "Bright and forever bustling, Bird Cow Fish is the very picture of the Modern Australian bistro" |
