Originally made with Gin and Rose’s Lime Cordial, the Gimlet was a drink famed after the 1867 Merchant Shipping Act made it compulsory for all British Navy ships to carry lime juice to ward off the effects of scurvy. Belvedere Cytrus and lime cordial shaken and served nude. |

| Pina Colada - Travel magazine in December 1922 first quoted the drink as using Bacardi rum, the juice of a fresh pineapple, sugar, lime and ice. It was not till the 1950’s that Don Ramon Lopez-Irizarry created the product Coco Lopez, otherwise known as the cream of the coconut. Bartender Ramon "Monchito" Marrero of the Caribe Hilton then evolved the Piña Colada on August 15, 1954 after spending months perfecting the recipe using Coco Lopez.
